I think the most challenging comparison and snapshot is probably either the one comparing and contrasting pastoral/nomadic societies with cities.

Or the one talking about the collapse of the empire and why it was more severe in Western Europe.

    Maybe it’s just me…

But i think these are the hardest.

right now, i believe the topics are equal in difficulty because i must do research and book work for all of them, but the hardest part for me is just organizeing my thoughts in an outline altogether, i would be alot better off just writing donw my information in a random jumble or ink and remembering it, but….thas juss me folk

Once all of your info is prepared you will be ready for any topic and the AP Exam better!  ~Needle

the one about the women and stuff

Think back to the reading on women and reference your book for additional info. ~Needle

I think the msot difficult is the one comparing the development of traditions and institutions in major civilizations.

Just think back to the first notes that we took on civilizations and then get some additional info from your book! ~Needle

I personally find them all fairly easy, you have already explained many of these topics in detail. Not to mention our books do help substantially, but if there was a difficult topic I would probably say the one about describing the Interregional trading systems.

    True….True! ~ Needle

yeah, im having the same problems as Rue on this one. i know the infomation, i just cant organize my thoughts into an outline format. it would almost be easier just writing an essay on each topic instead the outline…thats just me tho.

Writing the essay will be easier BUT preparing for them all will prepare you best for the exam. ~ Needle

    I have one that’s confusing…does that count?

So sayeth the CAS…”Compare the CASTE SYSTEM to other systems of social inequality devised by early and Classical civilizations, including slavery.”

Now…which caste system are they talking about?

The CASTE system is just about always referring to the system of social inequality in INDIA. ~ Needle

What constitites an early or classical inequality system?(see comparison and snapshot 4)

A system of inequality would be on that sets classes apart. Slavery or some sort of govt program that is exclusive to certain people.

    ~ Needle

Do I need more than two to compare the caste system with? I could only come up with one besides slavery. These outlines are really giving me trouble. I don’t even know if I’m doing them right!

Comparing one to the caste system would be enough for a comparison. This IS a difficult assignment but you can do it!

    Mr. Needle, it’s all hard.
I am having a super hard time doing this.

Just keep working on it! This is a challenging assignment that will benefit you! ~Needle

In #6 when it’s stated “compare the developement of traditions and institutions….” by saying institutions, do they mean architecture??

By institutions, the topic means all parts of the infrastructure that make the civilizations functional (govt, gender roles, economic structure, etc…)

I’m having a lot of trouble organizing all my thoughts and facts into an outline. I’m also a bit worried about how I’m going to do on the comparative essay.

  • 14    Elyse // Oct 16, 2006 at 8:14 pm

I agree with Julie. This has taken me way longer then I thought it would, and I am having trouble with finding exactly what the question is asking for. They are worded weird.

  • 15    Lena B. // Oct 16, 2006 at 9:33 pm

I personally think that the one about traditions and institions is the hardest. It took me a long time to find anything about it, but I think I got it, although it is one of my shorter outlines, only a page.

  • 16    Tony Jordan // Oct 16, 2006 at 10:05 pm

It could be worse…..the topics of these outlines could be much more difficult. AND MY GOODNESS THESE ARE A PAIN IN THE NECK!!!!

    - Mercy when grading these please, MERCY!

  • 17    Kelsey // Oct 16, 2006 at 10:59 pm

I think…wait…I don’t have a brain anymore, how am I supposed to think?! AHHH OH NO!

I do know one thing…these questions are worded like someone is just out to get you- they’re not even trying to be friendly!

  • 18    Chris Irvin // Oct 17, 2006 at 3:13 am

Comparison and snapshot number 5 is wordered wierd and wondering if you could explain it.

PS. Guess who is the biggest procrastinator in the world?
I’ll give you a clue he stays up till 5:30 in the morning doing outlines.
